There is a whole list of different types of engineers. For example, there is biomedical engineering (that’s us here in the health zone), but also civil engineering, computer engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, electrical engineering, and many more!

So the types of jobs can differ strongly. Even within the different types of engineering, there are different types of jobs. For example, I know some of the health zone engineers are doing research at a university, but an engineer can also work in a company. That can include things like leading a team, working in shifts, making a certain process better, doing research and development….

There are loads and loads of different applications of engineering and different types of jobs within each kind. All engineers use the same base set of skills, including creativity and logical problem-solving!

So much! Some are in the lab, some are at a desk, some are outside, some are in space even! The main similarity is that they all use science to try and solve the problems they are facing.
