      I study the “mechanical” properties of little bits of tissue that I can grow in a culture dish, to see what changes in disease.

      I am using light to detect very small changes in the membrane of a brain cell when they are talking to each other.

      Constantly changing and sometimes confusing, trying to make peoples lives better using clever science and cool machinery. Its often challenging but I love my job.

      I run research studies and build devices to help people with damage to their nervous system in their daily lives. It is a great job.
