My potential future children can be anything they want! If he or she wants to be an engineer, I’d think that was great and will provide all my support. But same for any other career as well. There are many amazing possible jobs and I think all of them are important in their own way.

Both my children have grown up and chosen their careers. Neither have entered the field of engineering.
I have tried to help them make informed decisions by knowing the options available, including engineering, but mostly I have encouraged them to follow their own ambitions and dreams rather than mine.

I’d want my future children to be happy so if that’s engineering or something else I won’t force any career on them.

I would just want my children happy, so as long as they had jobs that made them happy that would be fine with me.
