      I really like PDMS, which is short for polydimethylsiloxane. It’s like a clear rubber material. You can mould it into any shape when it’s liquid, and then heat it so it hardens and stays in that shape. Becuase it’s clear, you can do a lot of useful things with it, one of my favourites is to make my own lenses (though this technique is nowhere near perfect).

      The surfaces I make for my brain cells to live on are made of gold. Gold has a lot of interesting properties as well so thats why it’s my favourite material.

      Theres this stuff called aerogel, which is an insulation which is so good you can have a busen burner which is on, and hold an ice cube on a piece of aerogel above it and the ice cube won’t melt!
