I sometimes help to teach engineering to students at my university, it’s a good way to learn yourself and to get some extra pocket money!

I work as a teaching assistant in engineering. I enjoy working with students on their engineering problems and it’s really rewarding when they understand difficult topics.
Also, after I finish my PhD I am considering teaching / lecturing so it’s good experience.

I don’t! You must be thinking of someone else.

I don’t work as a teaching assistant but it’s common at universities to do a bit of both. I think it’s useful to be teaching the actual novel things that are happening.
